Biography

Tarek Abdelrahman is a professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1989. His research interests are in the areas parallel systems, parallelizing and optimizing compilers, parallel programming models and associated support. He teaches courses in the area of computer software, including programming, compilers and operating systems. He served as ECE’s Associate Chair from January 2006 to December 2008, as Acting First-Year Chair in 2004, and as Director of the Computer Engineering undergraduate program from August 1998 to July 2001.
