Biography

Gururaj Saileshwar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto, where he leads the Secure Intelligent and Trustworthy Systems (SITH) Lab. His research spans the intersection of computer security and computer architecture, with a focus on designing secure, efficient, and trustworthy computing systems.
 
His research interests include Microarchitectural security (including processor side-channel vulnerabilities and DRAM Rowhammer defenses), Emerging hardware and systems security (including confidential computing, GPU security), and Security for AI/ML Systems (including systems for privacy preserving ML, and attacks on AI/ML systems).
 
Prof. Saileshwar’s contributions have been widely recognized, earning him numerous prestigious awards. These include the IEEE HPCA Best Paper Award, an IEEE Micro Top Picks Honorable Mention, and several accolades for his doctoral dissertation, such as the IEEE HOST Best PhD Dissertation Award, an IEEE TCCA / ACM SIGARCH Best Dissertation Honorable Mention, and an ACM SIGMICRO Dissertation Honorable Mention.
